As the only resort in the state that runs from the mountain to the sea, Kapalua is blessed with miles of coastal and mountainside hiking trails, all free and open to the public.

One of the most popular is the Coastal Trail hugging the shoreline from Kapalua Bay to Fleming Beach park.  Along the way hikers encounter all sorts of natural phenomenon – sweeping ocean vistas towards the neighboring island of Molokai, volcanic pathways along the high cliffs of Ironwoods beach, a seabird nesting site and sunbathers galore.  Future plans call for the expansion of the trail all the way to scenic Honolua Bay.

Another favorite are the Village Trails found on the lands of the Old Village Golf course.  Routes vary in difficulty and length and offer guests a glimpse into the forested lands high above the resort.  The most stunning path traverses the side of the hill through towering Cook Pines and bamboo forested glens to reach the pinnacle at the Lake where ducks and Koi fish await.
