The Sentry Tournament of Champions kicks off each calendar year with one of the most exceptional fields in golf, traditionally featuring only winners from the previous year on the PGA TOUR, against the most picturesque backdrop in the sport, The Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort.

Through the years, the Sentry Tournament of Champions has been a stage for the most elite players in the world to showcase their skills against the very best in the game. This year, the Sentry Tournament of Champions played host to even more talent as the 2021 event welcomed 42 players, the largest field in tournament history.  As a result of schedule changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an additional eligibility category was created for the 2021 event. In addition to winners in the 2020 calendar year, the top 30 players in the FedExCup standings who advanced to the 2020 TOUR Championship became eligible for the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

Fans at The Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort can expect thrilling golf at the picturesque location, as 15 of the last 21 events have been decided by two strokes or less. The 2020 event saw Thomas win his second Sentry Tournament of Champions title when he battled through three playoff holes to defeat stalwarts Patrick Reed and Xander Schauffele. However, no year typified that better than this past year, when Harris English birdied the first playoff hole (par-5 18th) to defeat Joaquin Niemann and capture his third career PGA TOUR victory.

A central focus of the Sentry Tournament of Champions is the charitable impact associated with the event. Since 1999, the tournament has generated more than $7 million for community charities on the island of Maui.
